2021: In fiscal 2021, the net revenues of Wendy's increased to $1.9 billion compared to $1.73 billion in the previous year. 

The total number of Wendy's restaurants at the beginning of 2022 was 6,949 and 5,938 were operational in the United States. Out of the total US based restaurants, the company operated only 403 restaurants. 5,535 of its US based restaurants were operated by 228 franchisees. The number of restaurants operational in 31 international markets in Jan. 2022 was 1,011.

 

Total revenue of Wendy's increased to around $1.6 billion in 2018 from $1.2 bllion last year.

The Wendy's restaurant chain is the world's third largest QSR company in the hamburger sandwich segment.  The company operates its business through franchisees mainly.

The number of Wendy's restaurants in North America in 2017 totalled 6,130, out of which 5,793 were operated by a total of 349 franchisees. Rest were operated by the company. North America (US & Canada) is the largest market of Wendy's.

Apart from the restaurants in North America, there were 504 more restaurants of Wendy's operational across 29 countries. Number of total Wendy's restaurants operational globally was 6,634 in 2017. The first Wendy's restaurant opened in Columbus, Ohio in 1969.  The company's principal sources of revenues include sales at the company-owned restaurants and the royalties, rents and franchise fees received from franchisees.
