2020 Highlights:

  • The Volkswagen Group’s total gross profit fell to €38,947 million in 2020 compared to €49,142 million in 2019.
  • Volkswagen’s automotive division experienced a decline in gross profit in 2020 compared to the previous year. the automotive division’s gross profit fell to €31,599 million, compared to €41,996 million in 2019.
  • Volkswagen’s financial services division experienced a small growth in gross profit in 2020 compared to the previous year. Its gross profit rose to €7,348 million in 2020 compared to €7,146 million in 2019.

Its sales and profits compared to the previous year also declined. The diesel fiasco continued to haunt the VW group in 2020. The net sales of the company declined to € 22.9 billion in 2020 compared to €252.6 billion in 2019.
