2021: At the end of 2021, the number of aircrafts in Southwest Airlines' fleet was 728 compared to 718 at the end of 2020. Its number of enplaned passengers grew in 2021 to 123,264 compared to 67,785 in 2020.

As of 2020, the number of aircrafts in Southwest airlines' fleet was 718 compared to 747 during the previous year. 

In 2018, the fleet of Southwest Airlines had 750 Boeing 737 aircraft of which it owned 627 and 123 were leased. Out of the total aircraft in its fleet, 512 were Boeing 737-700 aircraft, 207 were 737-800 and 31 were 737 Max-8.
