The airlines company generated $15.8 billion in net revenues in 2021 compared to $9.05 billion in 2020.  Out of the total operating revenues in 2021, the company generated $14.07 billion from passenger flights and $187 million from freight operations. The company also generated $1.54 billion from other sources in 2021. Its net income in 2021 remained $977 million compared to a net loss of $3.07 billion in the previous year.

In 2020, the net revenues of Southwest Airlines, one of the leading airlines companies operating in the United States, experienced a severe decline in revenues caused by the pandemic.
