As of January 2022, Dominos had approximately 13,500 employees including 9000 in its US company owned stores and supporting US franchising operations, and around 3,000 in its US and Canadian supply chain operations. The number of corporate employees was 1400 and around 100 employees were supporting its international franchisee operations.
The number of employees working in the entire Domino's system in 2018 increased to 3,20,000 from 3,10,000 during the previous year. In the same period, the number of employees working at the company owned stores rose to 14,500 from 14,100.
Based on the global retail sales, Domino's is the largest pizza company in the world. It was founded in 1980 and since then has grown into a strong international pizza brand with more than 15,900 locations throughout more than 85 countries in the world. Globally, the entire Domino's system (including franchised and company owned restaurants) sells more than 3 million pizzas daily.
The main source of revenue for Domino's is the royalty and fees the company receives from its franchisees. Apart from them the company also operates a limited number of stores. Pizza is the second largest category in the US QSR industry whose size was around 299.6 Billion US dollars in 2018. The pizza category alone in US QSR industry has grown to the size of 36.5 Billion dollars. In 2018, domino's had 5486 franchise stores in US operated by 793 independent franchisees. The number of international franchise stores in the same period was 10,038.
