BMW North America enjoys higher sales in November 2019

Sales of BMW N.A. grew 4.5% till November 2019 compared to last year

Compared to November 2018, Sales of BMW North America grew 10.2 percent in 2019. In November 2018, the sales of BMW North America equalled 28,330 vehicles which grew to 31,213 vehicles in 2019. Year to date sales of BMW North America were 4.5% higher compared to the last year. 

Among the best selling models in November 2019 were the seventh generation BMW 3 series Sedan, as well as the BMW X3 and X5 sports activity vehicles.  The BMW X7 sports activity vehicle also enjoyed its best ever month since its launch in March 2019. While the seventh generation BMW 3 series Sedan sold 6,283 units in November 2019, the X3 and X5 models sold  5,948 and 5,359 units respectively. The X7 model sold 2,614 units in November 2019. 

Bernhard Kuhnt, president and CEO, BMW of North America, wished all the BMW customers and dealers a happy and healthy holiday season while announcing the November results of BMW North America. BMW is optimistic about strong year end sales and a stronger 2020.

BMW sold 16,014 passenger cars in November 2019 compared to 16,511 in Nivember, 2018, yoy decline of 3%. Sales of BMW light  trucks on the other hand, grew 28.6% compared to the previous November, rising to 15,199 units from 11,819 units.

Year to date sales of BMW passenger cars in North America was down around 14.4% in 2019 to 150,699 units from 176,037 in 2018 till November. On the other hand, the year to date sales of BMW light trucks grew 37.5% from 100,620 units last year to 138,281 in 2019 till November.

Total BMW North America sales reached 289,080 units till November 2019 compared to 276,657 units during the same period last year, representing a growth of 4.5% in vehicle sales. 

Sales of BMW preowned vehicles in North America also grew in November compared to the same month previous year. During November 2019, BMW sold 10,758 certified preowned vehicles which was 26.4% higher than November 2018, when it sold only 8,509 certified preowned vehicles. Total sales of BMW preowned vehicles in November 2019 reached 21,998 units which was 20.4% higher than November 2018 when BMW sold 18,267 preowned vehicles.

MINI Sales in USA

MINI sales in USA declined 13.1% in November 2019 compared to the previous year. MINI USA sold 3,067 vehicle units in November 2019 compared to 3,528 units last year during the same month. However, the sales of MINI preowned vehicles in the US grew in November 2019 compared to the same period last year. In November 2019, MINI sold total 2,367 preowned vehicles compared to 2,198 in November 2018, a growth of 7.7%. YTD sales of MINI preowned vehicles declined 6.8% coming down to 27,419 units till November 2019 from 29,406 units during the same period last year.
